Leadership

Seth Thomas

Senior Pastor and Youth/Young Adults Pastor
Seth is the Senior Pastor, as well as the Youth & Young Adults Pastor. He was born and raised in Arizona and didn’t originally intend to become a pastor here in the States. He worked and studied in a variety of industries in the marketplace before God specifically brought him across the country to step into vocational ministry. This gives him a practical approach to helping people walk out a gospel-centered life in whatever sphere of influence they are called to. One day, he desires to be actively involved in raising up local churches in some of the darkest places around the world. Revival is here and he is passionate about raising people up in their authority in Christ as sons and daughters that usher God’s Kingdom into our city on a daily basis!

In 2021, Pastor Anthony invited Seth to pray and consider moving to Burien and lead our Youth and Young Adult Ministries. When it was clear that this is what God was orchestrating, Seth accepted the position and moved to Washington at the start of 2022. In the background, God clearly began calling Anthony to pursue Kingdom expansion as the Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Christian Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; and God was confirming through many leaders that Seth would be the next lead pastor for Hope.

Barry Eggehorn

Associate Pastor/Worship Leader
For over 25 years, Barry has been leading worship at various churches and conferences within our community and beyond. Barry’s passion for music led him to the Berklee College of Music where he completed his online Master’s Certificate in songwriting. Barry has written, recorded and published several of the songs we sing and love here at Hope. He is a Seattle native and also a graduate of Seattle Bible College. One of his favorite scriptures is Romans 12:1 which tells us that we are to be a living sacrifice and that our worship is much more than a song, it’s a lifestyle. Barry currently lives in Des Moines, WA with his wife, Stephani and has 4 children. His wife Stephani currently leads our Worship Dance ministry as well as the Stirring Coffee house here at Hope.

Kayle Widmyer

Administrator
Kayle is our Administrator at Hope. He is married to Jana and hails from Ketchikan, Alaska. Growing up, he was a jack-of-all-trades and has worked as a fisherman, hay-baler, carpenter, pastry-chef, and media-director. As the administrator, Kayle works behind the scenes in the governance of the church, assessing how to best stimulate growth and improvement in each ministry and function of the church. He is passionate about teaching people to hear God’s voice and helping them personally encounter the heart of the Father. You can often find Kayle at local coffee shops talking about vision and sharing testimonies over a cup of coffee.

Anthony Simmons

Apostolic Elder of Hope 2022-current
Senior Pastor of Hope 2002-2022
Pastor Anthony Simmons was born and raised in Kodiak, Alaska. Anthony spent the first part of his life working in the logging and commercial fishing industries, but secretly his life was quickly spinning out of control with an addiction to alcohol and drugs. God supernaturally delivered Anthony from this lifestyle while he was in port in Seattle, Washington when attending church one Sunday morning. Sitting in the back of the small packed church, Anthony broke down in the presence of the Lord and made a deal with God. “Jesus, if you are real, please save me, if not then I’ll never darken another church door,” he prayed. Jesus spoke to his heart clearly, “I’ll save you, if you serve me.” The deal was made and Anthony left that service feeling completely sober and made new.

Pastor Anthony attended Seattle Bible College soon after, later earning a Bachelor of Theology. In downtown Seattle, he started an outreach to the homeless and Skyline Community Church. Pastor Anthony married Lori Simmons, and they now live in Fond du Lac, WI and have five children. Lori led the children's ministry for over 10 years, as well as oversaw Women's ministry and several Drama productions.

They built the Hope culture we now thrive within - we are forever grateful!

Over many months, God clearly began calling Anthony (and Lori) to pursue Kingdom expansion and transition to the Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Christian Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; and God was confirming through many leaders that Seth would be the next pastor for Hope.  Anthony answered the call and remains an Apostolic Elder of Hope Christian.
