Anthony simmons

Apostolic Elder of Hope (2022-current)
Senior Pastor of Hope (2001-2022)
Pastor Anthony Simmons was born and raised in Kodiak, Alaska. Anthony spent the first part of his life working in the logging and commercial fishing industries, but secretly his life was quickly spinning out of control with an addiction to alcohol and drugs. God supernaturally delivered Anthony from this lifestyle while he was in port in Seattle, Washington when attending church one Sunday morning. Sitting in the back of the small packed church, Anthony broke down in the presence of the Lord and made a deal with God. “Jesus, if you are real, please save me, if not then I’ll never darken another church door,” he prayed. Jesus spoke to his heart clearly, “I’ll save you, if you serve me.” The deal was made and Anthony left that service feeling completely sober and made new.

Pastor Anthony attended Seattle Bible College soon after, later earning a Bachelor of Theology. In downtown Seattle, he started an outreach to the homeless and Skyline Community Church. Pastor Anthony married Lori Simmons, and they now live in Fond du Lac, WI and have five children. Lori led the children's ministry for over 10 years, as well as oversaw Women's ministry and several Drama productions.

They built the Hope culture we now thrive within - we are forever grateful!

Over many months, God clearly began calling Anthony (and Lori) to pursue Kingdom expansion and transition to the Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Christian Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; and God was confirming through many leaders that Seth would be the next pastor for Hope.  Anthony answered the call and remains an Apostolic Elder of Hope Christian.

Dr. Stephen List

Elder-At-Large of Hope (current)
Dr. Stephen List is a man of faith, connected to world leaders, and led by the Holy Spirit to bring encouragement to the body of Christ. He was born in New Zealand in 1941, and raised in a family of seven that was called to Central Africa when he was eight years old. As missionaries he grew up witnessing God do might signs and miracles. After completing high school in Africa at age 17, List traveled to the United States for seminary earning his Seminary and Doctor of Divinity degrees. He then returned to Africa as a missionary, and began heading a Bible college there.

Years later when Dr. List returned to the United States, he served as a pastor over many churches and held many administrative roles. The Lord has equipped him with a range of diverse experiences and it's no wonder he's recognized as a Pastor’s Pastor. Today, Dr. List is circling the globe as an International speaker to world leadership, conducting leadership conferences, church conferences and crusades. He is in a position to know much of what the Holy Spirit is doing throughout the world.

Elders (Local)

Seth Thomas

Elder of Hope (current)
Lead Pastor of Hope (2022-current)
Pastor Seth was born and raised in Arizona and moved to Washington in January of 2022.  Ironically, he didn't originally intend to become a pastor. He worked and studied in a variety of industries in the marketplace before God specifically brought him across the country to step into vocational ministry. This gives him a practical approach to helping people walk out a gospel-centered life in whatever sphere of influence they’re called to. One day, he desires to be actively involved in raising up local churches in some of the farthest reaches of the world as well. Revival is here and he is passionate about raising people up in their authority in Christ as sons and daughters of the King who usher God’s presence into our city on a daily basis!

Seth met Hope’s former Senior Pastor, Anthony Simmons, through our pastoral network at Two Rivers Church in Arizona. In 2021, Pastor Anthony invited Seth to pray and consider moving to Burien to lead our Youth and Young Adult Ministries. When it was clear that God was moving, Seth accepted the position and moved to Washington at the start of 2022. In the background, God clearly began calling Anthony to pursue Kingdom expansion as the Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Christian Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  God confirmed through a variety of means that He had brought Seth here for the very purpose of stepping into Anthony’s shoes.  The transition was made in July of 2022 and it has been an incredible journey of God’s faithfulness and blessing in this new season!

Barry Eggehorn

Elder of Hope (current)
Associate Pastor & Worship Leader
For over 25 years, Barry has been leading worship at various churches and conferences within our community and beyond. Barry’s passion for music led him to the Berklee College of Music where he completed his online Master’s Certificate in songwriting. Barry has written, recorded and published several of the songs we sing and love here at Hope. He is a Seattle native and also a graduate of Seattle Bible College. One of his favorite scriptures is Romans 12:1 which tells us that we are to be a living sacrifice and that our worship is much more than a song, it’s a lifestyle.  Barry currently lives in Des Moines, WA with his wife, Stephani and has 4 children. His wife Stephani currently leads our worship dance ministry as well as the Stirring Coffee house here at Hope. They both have been active leaders and servers at Hope since 2014.
